About The Band
Beginning as street musicians in Barcelona, Rio Che and El Coba formed the solely instrumental acoustic project "Cobario".
The exceptional violinist Herwigos joined the guitarists in 2007, creating an out of the ordinary trio that has fascinated increasing amounts of listeners ever since.
Street-Shows
Since their beginning in Spain, Cobario is seen every year on the streets of the biggest and most beautiful cities as well as international street-art-festivals.
Their animating show is a specific type of street art. By sympathizing, laughing, astonishing and enjoying, it turns daily life into a special happening.
Therefore, beside concerts and performances of every kind, Cobario is playing mostly in summertime on the most prodigious and varied stage of the world: the street.

Final days of recording

The next 4 days we will be once again in the studio. The final compositions for the 3. Album will be recorded. Facing the last steps on the long way to our 3. Album, we want to take the chance and say a big thank you to Christian Weigl!
For the last months he was (and still is) resposible for the whole recording, mixing and producing of our 3. Album! He is doing a fantastic job, working with him together makes the process feel easy - and makes us feel comfortable in this very important project.

Hello everyone!
We are still working on our 3rd album, and it is hard work! But it will be worth the effort - we already have some songs ready, and we can tell you that we are really proud!
We are also planning our tour for the upcoming summer, and we will start in early may with the first concerts as it seems. Details will follow! There are already some festivals fixed in summer - in a few days we will release the dates.

2010 we had a great summer, with lots of new festivals in Europe and Canada!
Herewith we want to thank all the people who came to our concerts and shows.
For the moment we are working on our new album, the next concerts will be in the beginning of 2011.

Unbelievable! Last weekend we played at the Streetmusicfestival Bad Saulgau - there were lots of streetbands playing, and we got voted by the Jury as "best act" of the festival! The Audience was also voting in another category for the best act, and there we got voted on the 2. place, which is fantastic too!

RioChe is a viennese musician who commited himself to the sounds of nylonstrings.
His compositions are mostly of tragical nature and an important ingredient in the bands music.

Violin
Herwig Schaffner, alias herwigos started to play the violine at an early age. When he was only 15 he got accepted into the Mozartaeum in Salzburg and started to study the violine and the piano at the famous university.
In addition to taking part in several projects concerning chamber music and orchestra, which even involved journeys to China, he also succeeded as a composer.
Thus, his second symphonic creation was premiered in December 2009 in the worldfamous Wiener Musikvereinssaal. Being part of the band Cobario he has now a new musical project which enables him to express his creativity.

Before exploring his passion for instrumental music, El Coba was playing for several years in many rock- and coverbands.
„Coba“ means in the language of the Maya “water swayed by the wind”. Energy and motion is also reflected in his live-performances and compositions. Chairs are often fearing for their lifes, if Cobarios “Mr. Rhythm” is expressing his joy of life with his music…

vielen Dank dass ihr auf dem Grenzenlos gespielt habt und ein besonderer Dank für eure Musik! Manche Lieder lassen einen so wunderbar dahin träumen, andere machen mich einfach nur fröhlich und bei einigen will ich am liebsten gleich tanzen (auch wenn ich nicht weiß wie man Tango tanzt ; )).
Ich hoffe euch bald mal wieder spielen zu hören (und stelle mir gerade die Frage ob ich eure Musik jetzt noch besser finde nachdem ich euch live gesehen habe und ihr einen sehr sympathischen Eindruck macht?!)

(war nur kurz am Rottenburger Straßenfest und konnte ja nicht ahnen, dass tatsächlich beide CDs.. die erste und letzte… super sind…. ) .. habe kurz mit eurem “verkäufer” gequatscht.. aber hatte nur Geld für zwei dabei.. würde die mittlere gerne noch haben.. wie soll ich vorgehen? Also ich bin jedes Jahr auf dem TFF und fühle mich hinterher immer total frischzellengekurt aufgrund der ganzen tollen Eindrücke und der schönen Musik aus aller Welt. Doch dieses Jahr bleibt für mich für immer ganz speziell, denn ich durfte Teil eures extralangen und mitreißenden “Gesamtkunstwerks” im Handwerkerhof sein. Weiß gar nicht, wie ich es beschreiben soll. Diese Musik ist einfach …wunderwunderschön und man kann gar nicht genug davon bekommen. Eure CDs laufen hier ständig rauf und runter. Und ich warte schon gespannt auf euch beim nächsten TFF – dann vielleicht mit CD Nummer 4? :-)
Gestern in Berlin war schön.. sehr angenehme Musik.. ihr habt es auch toll geschafft das Publikum immer nähe rum euch herumzubringen, dass schaffen nicht viele! auch die Jam nachher mit dem Typen mit dem Seltsamen riesen-Xylophon auf dem er mit 4 Stöcken getrommelt hat hat Spaß gemacht.. Hit the road ohne Hit the road zu spielen.. :) Weiter so, viel Erfolg euch Jungs noch!

beim Bardenfest in Nürnberg habe ich mir eure CD gekauft (Cobario). Ich hatte nur kurz Zeit, da mein Zug gleich fuhr.
Ich hätte länger bleiben sollen. Fast jeden Tag höre ich eure Musik.
Normalerweise bin ich kein Typ der auf Musik abfährt aber eure ich wirklich gut.

Hab eine zeit lang gebraucht die Karte zu finden wo eure webseite drauf steht. Aber egal …^^ Auf jeden Fall habt ihr mich beeindruckt auf dem Straßenfest. War echt entspannend nach meiner Arbeit euch zu zuhören. Und hinweg zu Träumen. Und ich habe ja schon zu euch gesagt ihr spielt genau die zwei Instrumente wo ich am liebsten höre. Eure Musik hat mich in Hildesheim auf eine Wolke befördert… wenn ich Eure Musik höre habe ich das Gefühl zu schweben! Soviel Lebensfreude aber auch Melancholie wird durch Eure Musik übertragen, dass ich sie jederzeit hören möchte. Zum Glück habe ich beide CDs mitgenommen! I’ve heard you in Comacchio at Buskers Festival few days ago, with the three of you playing on a boat placed along the canal. What a wonderful show it’s been! Never listened to anything like that before, any attempt at labelling it would reveal itself pretty useless. Hope to see you again in Italy soon
